I think they're supposed to be there. There is the bright hourglass part
and in between on both sides are fainter lobes that extend a little past
the bright parts. I did a 5 minute exposure the other night and got the
bright parts, but not the fainter parts. as soon as I get my drive
running and my scope to a dark site I'm going to go for a 45 minute to 1
hour shot to get the fainter lobes.
I don't know if this is the same thing you're talking about. I guess if
you had 2 shots you could compare and see if you got the same thing.
