If you can get to the focusing screen and put a fairly high power magnifier
on it then you can use that method. Jerry L. does it quite successfully.
But if you can't, like with the OM-1, then it's not going to work.
The SureSharp, or any other knife edge focuser is the surest method. I have
used it for over eight years and rarely had an out-of-focus photo.
This sort of reminds me of the separate guidescope thread about a year ago.
I can't recommend a separate guidescope or focusing on the built-in
screen to a beginner.
