If the Orion Atlas/EQ3 mount is the same as the EQ3-2 mount that we see
up here in Canada then the mount is very over loaded for photographic
work.
The EQ3-2 can handle a scope like the ST-80 as a guidescope and then a
camera with lens (possibly up to 300mm) if the mount has been re-worked
and all of the slop and play taken out of everywhere and quality lithium
(or similar) grease to replace the Chinese non-setting glue that was
used.
A few people I know have managed short exposures with a fast lightweight
6" newt with an OAG but that was taxing the mount.
My 2 cents canookian worth.
