[APML] ***SPAM*** Up in smoke

Hi folks,

I still lurk here even though I don't post much.
Old timers may remember me from when I wrote the book 
Wide-Field Astrophotography.  You also may remember
I had an observatory west of San Antonio.  Almost two
years ago it was damaged by weather and I tore it down.

The pieces of it were hidden behind a lot of brush near
what is now just my observing site.  Last month I quit
procrastinating and trucked the parts away to a neighboring
ranch where we tossed them into the ranch's burn pit.
Last night I got a call on from the guy on his cell phone.
He told me the building was officially toast and the flames 
were 20 feet high.  An end of an era for me.
Like the old Viking ship that was torched and pushed out to sea.
