Re: [APML] Widefield in Cassiopeia: Heart and Soul Nebulae in [SII],Ha and [OIII]

Richard, that is a stunning shot! The delineation between the various parts of the nebula is amazing!

The only thing I can think to offer is that the stars have a slight purple cast - is it possible to adjust them without undoing the great work on the nebula?

Subject: [APML] Widefield in Cassiopeia: Heart and Soul Nebulae in [SII],Ha and [OIII]

This is the final result of my nearly two year quest to take a tricolor narrowband shot of the Heart and Soul (fetus?) nebulae in Cassiopeia.

This is a total of 6 hours and 50 minutes exposure over two nights.

Also included is a map of the area, it is indeed rich in named nebulae and clusters.

there is a small hydrogen-rich nebula toward the center, just east of IC1805. Does anyone know what its name is?

I've consulted my usual references including the Millennium Star Atlas with no luck.

The image was taken using a medium format Pentax Takkumar 200mm f/4 lens used wide open and attached to my Finger Lakes IMG6303E camera. I took 30 minute exposures for Halpha and [SII} and intended to do for [OIII] but made a mistake and shot 20 minute Oxygen exposures instead.

The palette is [SII] = Red, Ha = Green, [OIII] = Blue, the normal wavelength-ordered palette used in the Hubble Pillars of Creation.
