Jerry,

I've tried several of these programs but this is first one that  
claims to be able to do horizontal and vertical stitching.

If you really want to give it a workout download a bunch of Mars  
Exploration rover images from:

http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/gallery/all/

These have been very difficult to stitch with commercial software but  
there are hundreds of potential panoramas available that have never  
been released to the public.
