I recently found this programme as well, and although I've not tried it on a 
proper astro image yet, it did work well with some twilight images after a 
bit of tweaking of the settings (as suggested in the help file/web page)

Here is 4 panes stitiched together, some of which were pretty dark (2nd 
image on page):
