Have you tried to stack several images to compare the S/N ratio? When we push 2 steps the 400F, we can say that we can shorten almost 4 times the exposure... so, why not compare 4 pushed shots versus one unpushed? It is the same time <vbg>
I found that only one shot pushed indeed is by far too grany, but with only 3 stacked images there is a great improveness.
