RE: [APML] Tech Pan Development

Brian,

Fixer performs the same function with prints as it does with film. I used to
have fixer for film and fixer for paper because the Kodak fixer I used
recommended a higher concentration for film. The rapid fixer I use now is
the same concentration for film and paper, so I use it for both. Make sure
you keep the film in the fixer for the required time. The time will get
longer as the solution approaches its' capacity, but the recommended time is
more than adequate. Getting all of the fixer (hypo) out of the film when
you wash it is what is important if you want to keep your negatives for a
long time. Do a quick wash in water, then soak the film in a hypo clearing
agent, then do your final was in water. You should use the same hypo
clearing agent in the wash cycle of your prints. It shortens the wash time
and makes it more effective.
