Never used that one for astro-photo work, but the "tessar" desing
is like the "plossl" design - they are a 4 element desing, and are usually
pretty sharp straight on, and stopped down - which is what youa re
considering using them for. IN alrge format photogrpahy, the advantage or
quality you look for a lens is how much larger than the sheet of film is
the iage circle projected by thelens. This give you room for movements
with a view camera.
On all those Spped & Crown graphics - those proess cameras as they
call them - you see in movies - the types photogrpahers fromt eh 1940's use
- often those lenses were a tessar design, as they used very few moveemnts
on them. For astro-photo work, I doubt youw ill e moving the film plane at
all.
The only concern I ahve in thsi case is most 210mm lenses (which
is slightly telephoto - 150mm is "normal" for 4x5, as is 50mm for 35mm film
or 80mm is for 120 film) is that most210mm lenses are around F5.6 - F3.5
seems rather fast, so I am guessing you will ahve to use ti stoipped down
once or twice for sure.
