There are 5 relays in the box.  1 each for X+, X-, Y+, Y-, and the 5th for the alarm which few folks seem to use.  It is possible to use the 5th relay from the alarm to replace one of the other relays; they're interchangable.  So, if you're not using the alarm capability, each ST-4 already has a "spare" relay.
