[APML] TP Alternatives?

I'm not as experienced in astrophotography as many others on this list, and hope the efforts to keep Tech Pan alive succeed.

But that said, what are the alternatives to TP out there now?  I realize TP can be a tough act to follow but there are surely other fine grained B&W films that might still be usable for 35mm and medium format work, although not as good as TP.  Has anyone done any objective evaluations of the alternatives, both hypered and unhypered?  Thanks.
