RE: [APML] Confirmation of TP end of life?
Very interesting thread.
I have been grieving the past few days over the TP
news and still cant really come to grips with it.
I knew one day it might very well happen, being that
it is a special application film.
Perhaps someone here with advanced knowledge of TP and
that also has a way with words should build a page for
its astronomical applications and history thereof.
Maybe send this special interest page to a few film
companies and see if there are any responses or
curiosities to preserving a great film or making a
film close to its sensitivity curves.
If anything, it could be a farewell to a very special
astro film that made it possible to aquire highly
detailed astrophotos which still rival digital.
There are film users, and tech pan users.
Im definetley going to miss my luminance layer.
As I think about it, one of the best TP guys is Marty
Germano, I havent seen him post on mysky since May of
this year, his website isnt updated either.
Anyways, just an Idea
