Hi Stan,
Love the Alien Head aurora. Took me a moment to spot it, because classic
alien symbolism is not so ingrained in the subconscious through popular
culture here. (For some reason aliens have no interest whatsoever in
abducting Europeans; must be because of all the garlic we eat (;-)).
As for the meteor, Stuart is right. Since the Perseid radiant is very
close to the plane of the Milky Way great circle, then any Perseid seen
further along the Milky Way would have to be moving almost parallel to
it; your meteor is almost perpendicular to it.
