[APML] OT: early Perseid? and spooky aurora

OT because I used digital.  I captured this star trails shot last Thursday 
nite up in northern Wisconsin, right before the spooky aurora display.  Is 
that a green ghost and alien head?

This must have been a pretty bright meteor, camera was set at ISO100 and 
f/7.1, 60 minute exposure, facing due south as you can see the Milky Way on 
the left.  Why is it you can always catch these things when you're not 
trying?  No processing other than a slight crop.  What do you guys think, 
Perseid or not?
