RE: [APML] Blue response on astrophotos
Nicola, Two things you can do to boost blues on the trifid. First, blue
nebulosity is very sensitive to sky darkness. It takes an exceptional night
of darkness and transparency to get the blue wrapping around the red part.
Im suggesting this because I dont know how dark it was for you. Second, to
enhance the blues, a trick is to ajust the contrast (not brightness) of the
blue channel separately and then recombine. You can still color balance the
image, but it will have enchanced blues. Selectivley turning up the
saturation of the blue channel in PS will work too. Just a few random
thoughts...

Subject: [APML] Blue response on astrophotos
Dear All,
I recently shot M20 with Fuji Provia 400F and I noticed something that I
can't explain. The red part of the nebula is standing nicely while the blue
part is barely visible. Can anyone explain me why? It is said that Fuji
provia as good colour balance, so why I get less response to blue than to
red?
Do you know a selective way to enhance the blue keeping the rest of the
shot correctly balanced?
Regards,
Nicola
