George,

I've had very occasional scratches on bulk-loaded film (non- Tech Pan),
but these have always been due to the felt opening on the cannisters
getting old or contaminated with grit so you still risk that problem even
if the film is not from a bulk loader.

I'm also curious as to whether or not anyone has experience having a
commercial (pro) film processing place process individual 35mm or medium
format *color* film chips.  Is that even an option?
