Re: [APML] Of interest to Tech Pan users

Update. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. The part about Kodachrome
being discontinued is untrue. The part about Tech Pan being discontinued
IS TRUE.

 From the Kodachrome Mailing List:

Kodak has released a "Kodak News" to dealers "pre-announcing" the
discontinuance of Technical Pan. There is NO such announcement re
Kodachrome. The pre-announcement of Tech Pan discontinuance says 120 TP
will be discontinued Dec 2004, 35mm in 36 exp loads and 100' rolls
discontinued April 2005, and 4x5 and 8x10 sheet film TP discontinued in
June 2005. The memo lists T-Max 100 as the suggested replacement (hah).

I just received a message from Charles S. Smith, senior public relations
spokesman for Eastman Kodak. I have copied his message below in its
entirety. Basically it says that the rumors of the "death" of
Kodachrome are NOT true! They continue to make and support the
product. Sorry, but he can't say the same for Technical Pan. All of
you that use that film better buy some and make space in the freezer
just as soon as possible. The part about Technical Pan is true!
