RE: [APML] E100VS, G, VG, etc, etc?

Hi Kent,

Naturally E200 and the Provias are good choices for astrophotography.  However, I was under the impression that E100 was a good astrophotography film as well...although I must admit my information is out of date.  Hence the question.  :)

Cheers,
Jason

Hello all,

My wife is getting into film photography, and on our last trip to the photo store she picked up some Ektachrome E100.  Apparently, they've got several different types of E100 film now...one type for fine grain, one type for color saturation, and a couple others.  My question is...what's the actual difference between them and how does it affect E100's use for astrophotography?  Which variant do you want to use for astrophotography film?

Thanks,
Jason

Jason:
Kodak keeps changing their film line up faster than I can keep up with.
I would suggest you go to the Kodak website and it will differentiate the the varients of E100.
E100 is a good all around film, but it's currently not the best for astrophotogaphy.
Kodak E200 and Fuji Provia 100F and 400F are currently the best becasue they have better red response and less reciprocity failure
