I saw it too! I was in your area, more or less, about
8.5 km north of Mount Forest. (I was out trying to
image too, but sporadic high clouds ruined things
after about 1:00 AM.) It was exactly as you describe
it. I would add that when it broke up, the pieces
seemed to glow an orange colour. The initial colour,
however, was definitely green. It was so damn bright
I thought someone had launched a flare, but when I
turned around I could see it was no flare!
