Re: [APML] New Tricolor
Chuck!
Welcome back! So after thinking and planning for 2 years, why did you
choose to shoot something as dim and dark as IC5068? Interesting field, but
after 2 years of not getting any, I would have picked something a bit
brighter. :-) Star images look great from the 155, except possibly - as has
been discussed - the blues.
Congrats on your first aurora! Aurora IS light pollution, and I believe
I saw the same display you did from the other side. I drove 5.5 hours east
to get away from the forest fire smoke last weekend, to be greeted by aurora
and clouds on the 22nd and 23rd. Needless to say, I was not as happy to see
it as you were....
Nice shootin'!

Subject: [APML] New Tricolor
List,
It's been almost 2 years since I was able to take an astrophoto but I
now have a temporary setup at my new place and can take photos again.
What a joy it is to be able to walk out your back door, start a photo,
climb into your own bed for a nap while it is autoguiding away.

Finally, I saw my first aurora on Aug. 24 at 0700 UTC. It went up to be
about 30 degrees in the northeast, moved around and then disappeared in
about 10 minutes. There was no color. It looked like light pollution.
:-)
