Re: [APML] Agfa Optima Prestige film

Hi Walter:
Be sure to check Don Westergren's site; he has the largest database of astro film performance:
http://home.nethere.net/mpd/FilmTestSummary/FilmTestSummary.htm
Pat Freeman and Jerry Lodriguss are other sources of good practical information. Robert Reeves has a lot of information in his book but I don't know how up to date it is.
I've never used Optima Prestige, but recommendations of daylight photographers, professional or otherwise, are generally worthless for astro applications. The reciprocity characteristics of films are generally unknown to them (and sometimes to the manufacturer as well, when it comes to 1 hour exposures) and reciprocity is critical for our stuff.

Subject: [APML] Agfa Optima Prestige film

At the recommendation of the manager of the camera shop where I get my pictures developed, I am going to try Agfa Optima Prestige film.  I asked him about film that had good red response.  I picked up 4 rolls of ISA 400 and will try this weekend while I am in New Mexico.  Has anyone here used this film?  What were your impressions?

Thanks.
