Hey Al... Markus now has four dealers handling his wares here in the USA...
you can find out all about it here... go to ---------------------------->
http://apm-telescopes.de/englisch/index.htm
... sorry for the generic link, but his web pages are re-directed from the
index page... I can't (easily) send you an exact URL for his US distributors
page... but it's easy to surf your way through, and there's lots of cool pix
of the TMB stuff... as well as some astropix taken with them!
I noticed that Gary Hand, 'Hands On Optics' is now a US dealer...
:::DO NOT::: buy a T-ring from this cad... he *IS* a crook !!! Yup... I'm
saying this on an International forum... this 'man' just flat _LIED_ to me
when I purchased my MN-71 from him three years ago.
He said it had a Crayford focuser... instead it had the Intes helical... he
said that it 'just barely' illuminated a 35mm film frame... it has severe
vignetting and light fall-off... just as I suspected, AND WHY I ASK HIM IN
THE FIRST PLACE !!!
'Mr.' Hand also shipped it *without* the finder scope illuminator... Intes
has a variety of finders and brackets, and two different illuminators... mine
needed the 'bright' illuminator... I got :::NOTHING::: :-(
Insult to injury, the son-of-a-bitch charged my credit card a lousy FIVE
dollars more than our 'final' agreed upon price... $5.00... what a cheap
little prick !!! I await the opportunity to inform Mr. Hand in person of my
displeasure... he was alleged to have been a dealer at WSP '03, but I didn't
see him there... more lies I suppose?
I love my MN-71... thanks to Intes - not Hand-Job... I bought it for
primarily visual use, but wanted to know imaging limitations before I
selected it. This individual lied to me about all of this... don't trust
him... he's just in it for the bux!
Markus treated me way, way above average... in fact, this post is being sent
BCC to Markus as well... I think he should be aware of how _one_ of his
dealers treats *some* of his customers! FWIW... I also have privately heard
about similar experiences with Mr. Hand.
Markus' other dealers, Coronado, TMB Optical (US) and Astronomics all have
impeccable reputations among the amateur astro-community. I'm sure they can
ship you *exactly* what you expect in a TMB APO, if this fine instrument is
what you choose.
As Always... 'Buyer Beware'... :-/
