Re: [APML] Opinions on TV-85 vs. Tak 102-106
Hi Alan,
I also have a Tak FS-102 riding on a G-11. I have a web-site that shows
the pictures I have taken with the setup at
http://home.gwi.net/~aljordan/astro but keep in mind that I do not have the
processing skills of others on this list.
While sometimes I would like to have an inch or two more apeture, the nice
thing about this combo is that it is easy to get quickly setup to
photograph. There doesn't seem to be much that can go wrong to destroy a
photograph (except running out of battery power for the ST-4). The scopes
and the mount are both light enough where I do not need any help getting
everything going. I have not taken the setup to really dark skies so I am
not sure if it can match some of the results from others I have seen on the
list.

I figured that, but I've got a ton of TV accessories so I hope that
will balance out. Thanks for the great information. I think Jeff Allen
uses the same setup as you; Tak 102 on a G-11, at least I think that's
what he had last year. I'm hoping to learn a bit more if we can hook up
at OSP in 2 weeks. Appreciate your comments.
Alan
