Re: [APML] Opinions on TV-85 vs. Tak 102-106
Alan,
I have a Tak FSQ106 and I love it. Yes it does have a "hot spot" that
sometimes requires anti-vignetting processing in Photoshop. I have found
that the slide films run into the hot spot more than the color neg films,
probably due to the higher contrast and less latitude of the slide films.
For instance, I run into sky fog after 45 minutes with Provia 400, but can
go longer than 2 hours with the good old Supra400. The hot spot would be
more prominent with larger format. I only shoot 35mm so far.
Visually, the FSQ is astounding. I get almost as good a view of Mars with
the FSQ as with my AstroPhysics 7"/f9 (with Radian 3mm and Nagler 7mm
eyepieces, respectively).
