Subject: Re: [APML] New NGC 7331
Hello,
After very careful processing
here is the "real" version of NGC 7331 ... the only reason that I am posting
this on the APML is because ALL the post reduction processing was done in PS.
I discovered with very careful processing that "detail" can very easily be
created by sloppy processing ( my only excuse is that I did say the first one
was "quick and dirty" ).
I paid huge attention this
time to S/N, artifacts that occur when stretching an image (bands and rings
that really aren't there ... these occur at the boundary of a selection), and
density / contrast parameters...
Soooo ... this is about as
clean as I can get it ... hope you like it.
I know this is a film
list but most of what went into this image was done using film techniques
in PS ... and you don't have to open the image if you don't want
to...
Have a good one,
Tony
