Re: [APML] Off Topic- Pop Up Instant Messages

Alan,

I'll take a try at explaining a firewall. It's a form of protection from
unwanted computer activities. A firewall in a public building surrounds the
stair well to give the occupants a safe way out. On a computer, the
firewall monitors the activities on the computer and stops stuff from
happening (either coming into the computer from the internet, or reporting
and stopping the computer from sending unauthorized stuff out). It
complements anti-virus software, but actually works differently.

Go to Zone Alarm's web site to read more, and you can get a free download
for your computer. http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/home.jsp

I use it, and really feel exposed and vulnerable without it.
