Re: [APML] Off Topic- Pop Up Instant Messages

Warren, while you're at it you might also want to look into a good Spyware
cleaner. Check out the Freeware program "SpyBot - Search and Destroy" at
http://spybot.safer-networking.de/.

It'll clean spyware/tracking pgms from your 'puter, both Cookies and
Regestry entries. It has an Archive of removed items you can restore if
needed. I've used it for over a year and it is stable and works well.

If you're like me run it once a month, you'll be surprised how many people
out there track what you're doing. I clear out at least three or four a
month.

To add to Kevin's recomendation, ZoneAlarn's Firewall is really good at
keeping your Ports secure, blocking Cookies and Popups. I've used it
several years. Sometimes ZoneAlarn is too secure, like keeping out AOL and
Sears PartsCenter Cookies. They want Cookies enabled so they can get popups
to you anyway. Of course you can suspend and allow the Cookies and do your
work but then you have to reinstaate the blocking and run SypBot afterwards.

ZoneAlarm also has a feature which allows you to go to ZoneAlarm's database
to trace attemtps to access your machine. Interesting. Stuff is coming at
us from all over the world, you'll be surprised. We're at war baby. ...joe

by cable (always one), have a home network with 3-4 computers on it at all
times, and have never had a virus or any problems from the Internet (I have
my wife and kids trained as well).
