Re: [APML] CCD on APML (was: NGC 7331)

I can't believe I'm joining in on this but here goes: Radu (and some
others to be fair) got closest to how I feel. I think this list is GREAT
as is and I hope we don't forget just what a great bunch of folks this
list has. I'm on about three other lists and nice as they are, they have
almost NO personality which is a great feature of this list:
personalities galore! So, like many, I am a HUGE fan of the images being
posted and I don't really care where they came from as long as the
poster explains what they did, how they improved it, a problem they
solved or whatever.
I homed in on a comment Radu makes below which is why I'm posting my
thoughts as a reply to his post: I have so much to learn and if people
like Tony are forced to leave because they've moved on to other media or
formats, well we will all be poorer for that loss. I would like him and
all the others with expertise to stay.
Maybe another way to think about is this: people who are pure ccd to
start are not joining this list in numbers so we are not going to be
inundated by non-film discussion - everyone here (and I include Robert
whose film photos on his web site are very fine) knows the general
intent of the list and we can interact in harmony I believe.
Last comment - if something is of value, we will show that by our
enthusiasm and film is only going to fade when we all walk away. Not
before. I'm here to stay. (heck, with my investment in lenses and
cameras I can't afford to give up!)
