RE: [APML] Way off topic-A small victory over pop-up ads
Here's to small victories! Alan, take a look at Norton personal firewall
and/or internet security. One of them comes with a popup blocker that
works reasonably well. All you have to do is buy a copy, pop it into the
cd drive and you're on the way. Easy as one two three, plus $39.95 or
so.

Subject: [APML] Way off topic-A small victory over pop-up ads
Hi all,
IIRC, a few months ago we had a little discussion on how to get rid of
these #%&# annoying pop up ads. Several on APML provided links to
programs to get rid of them. I even tried to download one. I think I
did (I've seen it in the computer files somewhere), but I was too
incompetent to get it running (beat that Stuart!).
Recently these ads have been coming so fast I have not been able to
click them away fast enough. I tried this the other day: simply click
and drag the top ad out of the way, I put it in the lower right corner.
All the others stay under the top one. At the end of the day I simply
shut the computer down and they're gone. I no longer spend an hour a
day clicking them away. I won!
