Hi Bert,

I've experienced the same problem after installing or re-installing the
Magic Scan software.  My solution was to delete the scanner from the device
manager and manually re-install it.  Letting the plug and pray routine do
the install never works.  Sometimes I may have to do this multiple times, no
idea why, to get it to work.

I have cheeked the Vuescan site and they support the 3000 but at a very high
price.
