[APML] OT: software for Umax Powerlook III scanner

I'm having recurrent problems with the native scanner software (Magic Scan
4.3 and 4.5) finding the Umax Powerlook III (not 3000) flatbed scanner. I
get a "can't find scanner" message every time.  The SCSI card sees the
scanner at the correct address (and a Polaroid Sprintscan on the same
chain), so it's not a SCSI problem. The Sprintscan -- Insight software runs
fine.  I've tried changing the scsi ID, and removing the Sprintscan from the
chain, but nothing seems to help. The Windows 2000 Pro hardware install
wizard wants me to supply a file called "scsimap.sys" but I can't find any
such file.
Two questions:
Does anyone know where I can find "scsimap.sys"
Does Vuescan or any other software work with this scanner?
