Yes, it's a good question as to how deep and invasive the surgery is going 
to be on a cherished camera that might have good resale value.  In the case 
of the F2 I didn't think twice - it seemed quite cheap and after all I 
purchased it solely as an astro camera.  Also I purchased a second F2 in 
case I "killed" the first F2.  In fact the mod went very well and I have 
not needed to modify the second camera.  But of course the modified camera 
*can* have good resale value - to another astrophotographer!

The way that the tripod adapter nozzle was made was Chris Heapy's idea.  I 
just asked for something that would screw into a tripod socket.  One thing 
about Chris is that he will take an idea and produce something completely 
unexpected - and better than expected too.  I expect that he could easily 
turn out a few more of those.  They are small so would be easy to ship to
