[APML] way WAY off topic

Hi folks,

This is way the heck off topic, but maybe some of you geologist or militatry
veterans can tell me what this is. When I was flying both to and from the
AstroImage conference in California this weekend, I saw some stuff on the
desert floor in west Texas that has puzzeled me. I am guessing it was
between the Tex/N. Mex. border and the Midland/Odessa area. Can any of you
identify this www.robertreeves.com/pattern.jpg
I first saw a smaller version of this pattern about a half hour flying time
west of Dallas. Thy first thought was it was an abandoned antiaircraft
missile site, but the pattern grew and continued passing by for at least 100
to 150 miles. It was solid, all over the ground track I passed over. After
it went on a while, I then thought it may be an old military ammo dump by
Ft. Bliss. But lets get real! An ammo dump 150 miles wide? I don't think
so. Has any one else seen this from the air?
