Re: [APML] Don Goldman's presentation

Hi Tony:
The ratios of 1.2, 1.0, and 2.0 are exactly what I came up with using the AIP4Win solar analog method with my ST-10XME and the SBIG filter set. Nice to have independent confirmation.

Hello,

Don Goldman is almost my neighbor... if you don't know much about him, suffice to say he has degrees in spectrometry... he runs a business that devotes its time to chemical analysis via spectrometry... so it's a natural for him to be interested in the true "performance" of color filters... he is an avid amateur astronomer and CCD images from his back yard outside Sacramento.
He was very concerned that his presentation be as accurate as possible and we spent considerable time going over it... all of what he says about the "true" color response of various filter sets seems to be accurate, especially what he says about the SBIG set... I am finding that the 1:1:1.6 is wishful thinking... it's more like 1.2 Red, 1.0 Green, 2.0 Blue. This is close to what his analysis came up with.

     For what it's worth,
