Dear Potential ASTROImage 2002 attendees,
Seats are still available for viewing the videostreamed
ASTROImage 2002 conference at Whitewater Observatory on the campus of
the University of WI-Whitewater.
If you wish to reserve one or more seats, please contact
Observatory Director Paul Rybski by telephone at

before 3 pm CDT Friday, August 23rd.
The program of viewing this coming weekend will be as follows
(all times Central Daylight).
-------------------
Friday, August 23rd
-------------------
1. Observatory open to attendees at 8:30 pm
2. Videostream viewing begins at 9:00 pm
The conference begins with an introduction to Astro-imaging, given by
Greg Pyros and Robert Reeves.
A. Introduction - image samples, OCA club overview and available
resources, about the Astro-Imagers special interest group
within Orange
County
B. Astronomers, challenges, rewards and realistic expectations
C. Types of imaging - Through a camera lens, Wide-field, Lunar
/ Planetary
imaging, Deep Sky imaging.
D. Common concepts and misconceptions - telescope designs, mounts, need
for polar alignment, observing site considerations,
exposure, color vs.
black & white, guiding and post processing -- Members of the
Astro-Imagers group
E. Film imaging overview - why shoot with film?, imaging
opportunties with
a film camera, overview of an imaging session, hardware requirements
F. CCD imaging overview - why shoot with a CCD?, imaging
opportunties with
a CCD, overview of an imaging session, hardware requirements.
3. Observatory closes at 12 midnight
