A quick question - is it possible to disable the
declination adjustments from the ST4
so that it only guides in RA?
If so, is this an easy adjustment or does it
involve opening the box (if this is the
case I don't think I'll bother).
Reason is that on some nights I get strange
adjustments on the dec axis (2's, 3's, 4's and 5's - sometimes
higher - followed by
0's and 1's). I've tried the scintillation adjust in all settings but it doesn't
make a
big difference.
I thought it might be vibration from the previous
adjustment blurring the image so I set the
adjustment period to max and still got these
strange results.
My scope is near as dammit polar alligned and a
test with a long ccd shot shows negligible drift in
dec over 10 minutes (only in RA).
