Actually I sort of understand what you are saying, as I naively thought that
I was buying an astrophotography ready mount, though I am fairly new to all
this and moving too fast as it is, but, I think that the characterization of
'hundreds if not thousands' of dollars, and having to carry a toolbox with
you are a little over the top. The standard mods that are done to G11's
would be under a couple of hundred bucks, and that would only be including
new worms. Seems to me like the original poster was asking a lot of his sub
$2K mount, I mean, that's why you guys, (and ASAP me) pay 5-6K for a mount.
