Hi all,
Last week I tightened up the meshing of the worm gear on the
dec drive as per manufacturer's instructions to try to reduce the lag in
reversing directions. While it seems to have helped marginally, I have
noted a new effect: while drifting last night and bisecting a star
vertically (N/S is up/down), the star would drift slightly downward before
heading up, all while the "up" button was engaged. The fix seems to be
simple: undo my tightening procedure.
The real question is: what causes this effect? I
would have thought this motion impossible.
Thanks,
Mike Connors
