I used the Losmandy system and it worked quite well. I
like to mount my lenses like my guide telescope -- between two 3-screw
rings. The camera body hangs off the rear of the lens, just like it does
for prime focus work. If you have a tripod socket hole on your lens, then
you can add further support with an additional simple Losmandy camera mount
on the lens' tripod socket. Either system allows one to move the
camera/lens (with internal focus) in RA, declination and axially. The
rings are mounted on a Losmandy dove-tail plate which allows one to move the
camera system for balance. If you want you can use the Bogen tripod head
on a Losmandy dove-tail plate or use the system that Joe Schaefer uses.
The Bogen tripod system is very user-friendly and works well for short
exposures. However, I did note some flexure effects with long
exposures (e.g. 40 minutes).
