 Shashi,

      This is elementary, but if not before, try this 
now:

Go Start/Control Panel/System/Device Manager and look 
for any caution/warning icons...especially with SCSI or 
Imaging Device titles.

Go Start/Control Panel/Scanners and Cameras/Add Device 
and try to manually load drivers here...if above check 
didn't help.

Anything more complicated than this should net a return 
visit by your serviceperson...if it worked before, it 
should work now!
