Thank you... after I get back from the
OSP I will subscribe to the SBIG list and try it out... I have always been an
"experiment and find out for yourself" kind of guy but I am very interested in
hearing other comments about CCD information. I am currently completing a 6946
image if the smoke gets out of here by tonight... the twist on this is that I am
going to use a clear filter with IR block for the luminance image... the
reasoning seems sound... why smear density into the RGB from the IR where there
is no correlating RGB data? This only would tend to "fog" those parts of the RGB
frame where there is no data...I think this is a major reason the L has
overwhelmed the RGB data in the past. Anyway... we'll give it a shot and see
what happens... for me the main element of the L is the sharpness... I really
don't want to put anything there that isn't already represented by the RGB
data.
