Re: [APML] Hypering LE400 in Lumicon 300?
Thanks Don, David, Bobby, and Scott.
I did check webpages by Jerry Lodrigus, Philip Perkins, and Mike Rogers.
Mike has a table summarizing inputs from a number of APMLers:
http://www.rphotoz.com/astrophoto/filmhyper.html
It seems that by the time a table like Mike's is put together, the films are
discontinued!
I went under the assumption that LE400 would hyper like PJ400, and went for 7
hours.
With the 2 hour spread in the times you all indicated, I only hope that my
system
is similar enough that my film isn't cooked to death. Some form of densitomer is
in my
future--but the new moon is even more immediate!
I'm curious about recommendations to flush the tank and film 3 times with
forming gas.
I followed Mike Rogers sequence of dessicating for 3 hours prior to heating, and
then
dessicated for the additional half hour it took for the system to heat up to 47
deg. It seems
all the oxygen and water should be long gone after that!
One last question. I pulled -29 psi on the tank at the end of the hypering time,
pulled the plug
on the heater, and let it cool for the rest of the night. Is there any hurry to
remove the film from
the now room temperature vacuum environment of the chamber and put it into a
freezer?
I'll post a comment with results after shooting this coming weekend.
Thanks again for your help guys!
