If I remember correctly, she did say there is some sort of corrector lens
built for the CCD.
As far as what the 48" is being used for right now, I don't remember what
she said.  I do know that she said Caltech is most likely going to
disassemble and/or get rid of the 18" Schmidt used by Levy and the
Shoemaker's.  She said it just does not get the use it once did.
The 200" is still is demand although she said a researcher can call up and
get a night on the scope with only about 6 months notice.  Years ago it was
a 1-2 year wait.
