Working from unreliable memory...

It was built around the 40's.  The mount was built at the same time.
f/1.0, fork mount.  8x10 film.  I think that its original purpose was
asteriod searches.  It is at a University.  They don't have the programs
to support it anymore.

The OTA/mount was fairly heavy (> 1 ton).  The film molding/cutting
equipment was another 1/2 ton or so.
