Re: [APML] Which slide scanner do you use ?
Hi Stefan:
Most of my experience thus far has been with the older model HP scanner
"SmartScan." Recently I got one of the discontinued Polaroid SprintScan
35Plus scanners. . I have never had a problem wth the HP unit but it is much
more limited in controls than the Polaroid. THe Polaroid got "stuck"
briefly, but I fixed it rather easily and it is much more versatile. If you
can find another one on EBay or other outlet, you can't beat the price on
the Polaroid. (Of course, long-term, I would like to get one of the higher
resolution scanners that will accept 120 size film, but I have other higher
priorities for my money right now.) For my occasional 120 film images now,
I use a UMAX Powerlook III scanner (flatbed with transparency attachment).
It works well for ~$1200, but max resolution is only 1200 dpi.
Hope this helps...
