If this is a parallel port interface...they are
correct...extending that cable could also burn out your I/O
drivers.

When I talked to Sbig about
extending the cable that leads to the head of the ST4, they said that I should
not extend the length of the cable at all as any longer and there will be
timing problems between the control box and the head. I have not tried
on their advice. I do intend to try as I want to have a short cable lead
from the head to our pier and then a hidden cable run to the control box
making a cable that would end up being of a longer length. But since I
have not done this, I cannot say if it would work.
