If the D-19 has the color of concentrated urine or worse.... pitch it.
It is not light that will mess it up, but oxidation... if it turns dark
yellow or brown, you can be sure that it is oxidizing. I used to mix my D-19
and split the gallon mix into four tightly sealed bottles.
This way I could extend the useful life of the D-19 because each bottle was
fresh. If you are really gung ho about preservation, mix with distilled water
to make sure there are no impurities in the water that can contaminate the
D-19 during a prolonged storage scene.
