Herm, that's really interesting.  I've been using manual adjustments for a
long time now, also based  on my experiences with the 1200.  I now follow
the same procedure with the Epson 2000P and the 1280, both of which I use
for print making.

I always thought that I might be missing something by not listening to the
crowd and using this or that profiling scheme.

It's nice to know Tony Sleep came to the same conclusion.  Bottom line -
trust yourself and your eyes, tweak it till it's right and forget about it
after that.  You can micromanage these things to death and end up worse off
than when you started.
