Re: [APML] Carl Zeiss 300mm f/4 lens for 35mm or Pentax67 cameras?
The lens Aike list on his webisite is the Carl Zeiss Jena lens.
This may be the pre unification Zeiss lens made by the former East German Zeiss works. I think Zeiss has now reunifed. I believe but it would be helpful if Aike could confirm if this the lens is of current manufacture
or earlier.
As to the Japanese Zeiss lens, Kyocer makes them under license form Carl Zeiss. The ones I haave on my Contax SLR are superb, as good or better than Leica, especially in the contrast department. However, my
lenes were some of the first to come from Kyocera. I understood at the time I both the outfit that Zeiss technicians were resident in Germany to do qualtiy contol. This may be no longer true.
Ast to the shapness issue. The G-1 lens on its infinity stop my not be at true infinity. See Robert Reeves' excellent section on this issue in his book.
